Cloud Computing on Ubuntu Server

With Ubuntu, you can build the perfect cloud environment for your business whether private, with Ubuntu Enterprise Cloud (UEC), or public, with Ubuntu Server on Amazon EC2. Because UEC uses the same machine images as Amazon EC2, you can create a hybrid cloud or migrate between public and private easily at any time.

Building a private cloud:
Ubuntu Enterprise Cloud (UEC)

With Ubuntu Enterprise Cloud you can bring the same self-service capability into your data center using the same tools and APIs used on Amazon EC2.

  • To install UEC on a server Download Ubuntu Server (above) and choose UEC when prompted during installation
  • For instruction on setting up a private cloud using UEC see Getting Started with Ubuntu Enterprise Cloud
  • Download machine images to be run on your Ubuntu Enterprise Cloud (these can be modified, rebundled and uploaded to Amazon EC2)

Deploying on a public cloud:
Ubuntu on Amazon EC2

With Ubuntu on EC2 you can get up and running with a new Ubuntu server in seconds and add more as you need them to scale with your application workload.
